This agreement applies to all TRUHockey Development and Leadership Programs, including but not limited to
on-ice sessions, classroom instruction, dryland training, transportation, leadership activities,
and any related events or programming.
IMPORTANT: BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, YOU WILL WAIVE OR GIVE UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS,
INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE OR CLAIM COMPENSATION FOLLOWING AN ACCIDENT.
1. Assumption of Risk & General Release of Liability
I understand that participation in TRUHockey Development programs involves inherent risks, including but
not limited to physical injury, illness, accidents, transportation risks, and risks associated with ice
surfaces, dryland training, classroom activity, and weather conditions.
By signing this agreement, I voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with my child’s
participation and hereby release and hold harmless:
- TRUHockey Development Ltd.
- Its Owners, Directors, Instructors, Coaches, Staff, and Volunteers
- Partner schools, School Divisions, and Facilities
- Transportation Providers and Third-Party Contractors
from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from participation
in the program, except where prohibited by law.
2. Transportation Waiver & Policy
- Transportation to and from TRUHockey sessions is provided by Here & There Charters, a third-party transportation provider.
- Here & There Charters is solely responsible for transportation services, including vehicle operation and driver conduct.
- Drivers will take attendance while loading buses to ensure accurate participant tracking.
- TRUHockey Development assumes no liability for incidents occurring during transportation to or from sessions.

Student-Athletes will not use cell phones, and drivers and vehicles will be treated with respect.
Any damage to vehicles during transportation will be the responsibility of the individual student and their guardians.
Weather & Road Conditions
- If Chinook Bussing Division cancels routes due to poor weather or road conditions, TRUHockey Development and Here & There Charters will also suspend transportation.
- Parents will be notified through the Communication App.
- Classroom, dryland, and on-ice sessions will remain scheduled unless otherwise stated.
- Parents may choose to drop off and pick up their child at their own discretion.
- TRUHockey Development reserves the right to cancel sessions entirely with short notice when safety is a concern.
- No refunds or credits are guaranteed for weather-related cancellations beyond TRUHockey Development Ltd. control.
3. Athlete Behaviour & Conduct Policy
Participation in TRUHockey is a privilege. All athletes are expected to demonstrate respect, accountability,
and appropriate behaviour toward instructors, peers, school staff, bus drivers, and facilities.
Strike System
Strike 1 – Verbal Warning
- Discussion between athlete and instructors regarding behaviour expectations and accountability.
- Incident documented internally.
Strike 2 – Parent & School Notification
- Follow-up discussion with athlete.
- Parents/guardians and school principal or vice principal notified.
- Athlete may miss 1–2 sessions if deemed necessary by parents, instructors, or school administration.
Strike 3 – One-Week Suspension
- All parties notified.
- Athlete suspended from TRUHockey programming for one (1) week.
- Athlete will remain at school and complete alternative school work during session times.
Strike 4 – Program Removal
- Athlete removed from the program immediately.
- No refunds or credits issued.
- Athlete is ineligible for future TRUHockey programs.
These measures ensure a safe and respectful environment. No exceptions will be made.
Decisions under this policy are final.
4. Student-Athlete, Instructors & Parents Cell Phone & Device Policy
- Cell phones are not permitted in dressing rooms.
- Cell phones are not permitted during transportation.
- Cell phones are not permitted during TRUHockey sessions unless directed by an instructor.
- Phones must remain stored away during program time.
- Instructors and parents may record video or take photos for training, educational, or promotional purposes.
Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action under the Behaviour Policy.
4. Protective Equipment
It is mandatory to wear a CSA-approved helmet, full equipment set, neck guard, and any other protective
equipment deemed necessary. A mouthguard is strongly recommended.
Failure to wear mandatory equipment will result in removal from the ice surface until proper equipment is worn.
5. Payment & Refund Policy
Payment Policy
All program fees are subject to applicable taxes.
Payment Options
Option 1 – Paid in Full
- Full program cost plus applicable taxes due at registration.
Option 2 – Two-Payment Plan
- 50% due at registration.
- Remaining 50% plus taxes due on the specified date.
Option 3 – Three-Payment Plan
- 1/3 due at registration.
- Second 1/3 due on the specified date.
- Final 1/3 plus taxes due on the final date.

Missed or Late Payments
Failure to make scheduled payments may result in the student-athlete being suspended or removed from the program at the sole discretion of TRUHockey Development Ltd.
Removal from the program due to non-payment does not eliminate outstanding financial obligations unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Refund Policy
TRUHockey Development Ltd. commits to delivering a high-quality leadership and development experience. Program planning, facility bookings, and apparel orders are confirmed in advance based on registrations received.
General Refund Guidelines
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing.
- All refunds are subject to review and final approval by TRUHockey Development Ltd.
- TRUHockey Development Ltd. retains full discretion regarding all refund decisions.
Withdrawal Before Program Start
- Refunds prior to the program start date may be granted, less any non-refundable administrative fees, apparel costs, or third-party booking fees already incurred.
Injury or Extended Illness
In the event a participant sustains an injury or experiences a documented illness requiring extended absence from the program:
- TRUHockey Development Ltd. will review the situation on an individual basis.
- A prorated refund or program credit may be issued at management’s discretion.
- Medical documentation may be requested.
Missed Sessions
- No refunds or credits will be issued for individual missed sessions due to illness, scheduling conflicts, travel, or other personal commitments.
- This includes missed on-ice, classroom, dryland, transportation, or leadership sessions.
Program Removal or Dismissal
If a participant is removed from the program due to conduct, policy violations, or non-payment:
- Refunds will not be issued unless otherwise determined by TRUHockey Development Ltd.
5. Media Release
I grant permission to TRUHockey Development to use photographs and video recordings of my child for:
- Social media
- Websites
- Promotional materials
- Educational and marketing purposes
To protect privacy:
- Last names will never be used.
- No personal identifying information will be shared publicly.
